I knew Howard very well. We met in grade school at the after school orchestra and then continued in H.S. under the direction of Barry Silverman. Howard was a very gift violinist and I admired his gift of talent.
May the sweetest of sounds carry on. You will forever be missed.

This news is painful as I was just speaking about Howard to my younger sister a week ago...I knew Howard since middle school at Marine View. I remember him as very kind to everyone and extremely talented. Every now and then he would bring his violin to school and perform for the class (@ Marine View). We all enjoyed it. He was very funny, too. I'm sure his violin continues to play in Heaven. Sweet dreams, Howard...

I'm shocked and saddened. Howard was always so cool and confident. I still remember him coming to a party at Kris Beatty's house and arriving in a silk smoking jacket. We were in 8th grade, I think! Howard was nice to everyone, even though he was so popular. We will miss you, Howard!

EVERY TIME I HEAR THE NAME HITCHCOK I THINK OF YOU. EVEN THOUGH THERE ARE MANY HITCHCOCKS AROUND. IN 7TH GRADE, I PLAYED CLASSICAL MUSIC ON THE PIANO AND YOU OBVIOUSLY HAD YOUR TALENT. WE HAD SOMETHING IN COME THAT ALOT OF PEOPLE THOSE DAYS DIDN'T APPRECIATE OR THOUGHT WAS STUPID. YOU WERE ALWAYS VERY SMART, VERY DEBONAIRE(SP?) AND ALWAYS REAL. I HOPE THOSE DEMONS ARE NOW GONE AND YOU CAN REST. HEAVEN WILL ENJOY YOUR MUSIC!!!

Howard was a great guy and a very talented musician. We dated a few times and even went to the Senior Prom together. Once Mr. Silverman took the whole Musicianship Class on a field trip to The Griffith Park Observatory for some kind of Laser Light show and then to stop into Tommy's ( Downtown LA) for a burger. At 17 years that was all such a thrill. Was so terribly shocked and sad to hear that he is not here on this plain anymore. Addio Howard.

Howard and guys from the neighborhood played bluegrass. He was so talented and so funny and was very positive to be around. I was telling my husband about the musicians I knew in school a few days ago. Howard was really special and I can't believe I am saying, "was." Blessings to your family.
