Right out of high school, I moved to Newport Beach with my boyfriend and his band. Coincidently, Christa Sears tried out and got the position as the lead singer of the band—that was somewhat strange since I did not hang out with Christa. She answered an ad in the paper I believe. They played locally for a while. That was a fun time. I worked various food server, cocktail server and bartending jobs once I turned 21. I moved back to Huntington Beach in 1983. I got into the catering business for a time and even opened my own deli/catering business in Huntington with a couple of business partners. By 2000 I quit the catering business and went to work for the school district my son was in, Huntington City School District. I drove the school bus for a while. That was a fun job and the hours were a good fit with my son’s schedule. I got all school holidays and all summer off from work. Once he (Andy)got into Dwyer middle school he was old enough to look after himself a bit, I got a full time job with Southern California Edison, SCE. I am now in the Energy Efficiency Department and the future looks bright(thats electric company humor).
It is so nice to see all the old faces but I have to admit, I don’t believe I would recognize anyone if I saw them on the street. I live near the downtown area and have been here for 10 years. I probably run into people all the time and I don’t even realize it! I go to the 24 Hr Fitness downtown, Mario’s in 5 points and all the other businesses around here. Reading the message boards, I see that tons of people go to Tumbleweeds (I call it Stumbleweeds due to my condition when I leave). I live right around the corner and go there from time to time. Believe me, I walk home!

The Kid ~ How come no one told me how much fun having a 14 year old is??!! He is a freshman at Huntington High now. Some of the old teachers are still there.
